It was competition time at Oasis Academy Southbank recently as the first term of the joint enrichment scheme with Globe came to a close.
The past six weeks have seen volunteers from across the business – from sales to content, marketing and design to project management – attend the school with the aim of helping Year 8 students to create a new school magazine which they would ultimately pitch to a panel of judges.
The teams covered a wide range of topics within their magazines including cakes, gaming, sports and celebrities, and produced excellent front covers that took into account all of the different aspects they’d covered during the term. The winning team, Global Sports, delivered a particularly good pitch, pulled together as a fantastic team throughout the process and were particularly happy with the £100 prize, which they chose to donate to the PE Department to buy more equipment.
Particular thanks to all the volunteers who took part this term: Fran Clixby, Soph Kernohan, Lois Fryers, Tasmin Cooper, Jeremy White, Joshua Richman, Sinead Dineen, Fatma Kirney, Monica Zgurova, Chris Black, Amy Elderfield and Fran Mordue!
